I used to think all I had to do was run every so often and control my portions and by doing so, achieve total fitness. After joining the FitMania program, I had an awakening. I was overweight. I didn’t fuel my body the right way. I was ready for a change for the better. All of the trainers at FitMania helped bring light to how one can achieve total fitness, but just the knowledge alone doesn’t cut it. At FitMania, there’s a motivational group environment that helped me achieve my goals and put me in a place where I now work out for life’s activities. I’m no longer winded when I go play frisbee or throw a football around with my family. I no longer get headaches like I used to. I eat real food and feel great.

I’ve experienced an increase in my quality of life through safe, effective exercise and real food to fuel my body. I’m a firm believer of this program and have seen the positive effects firsthand and with multiple people. Now it’s my duty to help others experience what I have and will continue to experience!

I grew up in Jackpot Nevada and graduated from South Dakota State University before moving to Boise in August 2010. I have always been taught that working out is lifting weights in the gym and running on a treadmill. I was referred to FitMania when I wasn’t seeing the progress I wanted. I was getting stockier, but body fat was coming up too.

I stepped foot in FitMania 4 years ago and my life changed. I was an athlete my whole life and knew how to push myself to the limits. Now I know what it’s like to push myself beyond those limits with the support of the FitMania family. I want to provide that same support to everyone who steps into FitMania. You’re in there to better yourself, no matter where your at. Be proud of who you are and what you’re doing, of these steps you’re taking and sacrifices you’re making to become a healthier person.

Fit Mania came into my life when I needed it most.  The funny thing is that I only focused on needing the PHYSICAL changes that I believed I could achieve through our program.  I was not aware of how this program would introduce me to new ways of thought in finances, business, and relationships.  What I love about Fit Mania is that it is a place of happiness, encouragement, support, challenge and ultimately, growth.  We are taught to enjoy healthy food and lots of it!  We are reminded to work hard and push ourselves to new limits.  We are also taught to apply these principles to every other aspect of life and when we feel ourselves slipping, we have a FAMILY to help lift us up and get us back on track.  Through Fit Mania, working out has become a part of my lifestyle and the rewards are much more than just a fit body.

I was active growing up and I always strive to maintain my active lifestyle.  In college I worked out, but I had a skewed idea of what it took to be healthy and workout. (I ate what I wanted and spent much of my free time doing cardio at the gym.) Through my early twenties I continued to work out in a variety of ways that I realized later were never sustainable… I hired trainers, took supplements, cleanses and meal replacements and followed with yo-yo dieting to achieve the “ideal” body and healthy look I thought I wanted. A friend introduced me to FitMania and I went into the boot camps thinking that this would be my next fad to follow. FitMania proved to be what a healthy and fit lifestyle should be! No fad diets, just simple clean eating and working out for 45 minutes a day, 5-6 times a week. FitMania has turned a skinny, no muscle girl into a strong woman with muscle. I was able to further realize the benefits of this protocol in that I was able to work out for all 9 months of my pregnancy and had a relatively easy labor. I want show others that it is possible to live a healthy and fit lifestyle. I want to be able to help and teach women that you don’t have to give in to pregnancy cravings; that you can have a healthy pregnancy and workout through all 9 months.  I want everyone that I train to be able to achieve the same healthy lifestyle that FitMania teaches and feel the motivation and inspiration I feel every time I walk through the doors. I truly feel that we provide every one with the tools and knowledge to live the life to the fullest.

I’ve always loved the challenge of competing and keeping myself in shape. After finishing up with track at the college level and starting my career, I found that although I still loved to work out, I just didn’t have the drive I once had. I was then introduced to FitMania, and High Intensity Interval Resistance Training. I decided that I needed to challenge myself, get out of my comfort zone, and give the boot camps a try. I immediately fell in love with FitMania. I loved the energy of the group classes and the positive push of the instructors. There’s no time to think “I can’t” at FitMania. Once you’re here- you’re pushing, you’re sweating, you’re working! FitMania’s High Intensity Interval Resistance Training has given me the drive and passion to work hard and push myself to do anything. FitMania has given me back my “Bring it on” attitude. I love that I get to apart of a team that witnesses people’s hard work and dedication everyday.

I fell in love with the FitMania Boot Camps during my first pregnancy. With my new role as a mother, I made a commitment to get fit and stay fit for my family.

Inspired by my personal growth in strength and discipline, along with a shrinking waistline, I decided to share what I have learned with both adults and youth interested in fitness.

I have enjoyed over 10 years as a junior high Spanish teacher, 4 years coaching high school softball, and more than 20 years competing in team and individual sports.

I have always loved sports and being physically active. Raising six children has helped me to stay active and fit. But over the years I realize that I needed more. So I started running to stay in shape. Then I started going to the gym and lifting weights. I enjoyed the results that I got from both of these activities. But once I was introduced to the FitMania HIIRT workout program, I was hooked. I love the group workouts because I can always find someone in the group that can push me to a higher lever. Plus I have gotten know so many great people through the program. Another benefit of this type of workout is that it’s much easier on my body with my injuries. I know it is something that I can continue to do for years. Because of my age (I will be 61 in November) I feel like I am an inspiration to younger people in the program. I have heard this more than once: “I’m not going to let that old man beat me.” Then I do.

I’m a trainer because I enjoy helping, teaching, and inspiring others. It ups my personal commitment level and I love the positive energy that I find at Fit Mania! I’ve never had better results in a fitness program and truly feel like it’s a lifestyle I can maintain. It’s a well-rounded program and has helped me not only accomplish physical goals but educational, relationship and spiritual goals.

I was an avid softball player growing up and a professional model throughout high school and college. The pressure and task of staying thin was no small feat and the means to do so were far from healthy. I would often go days consuming nothing other than protein bars and Diet Coke. Throw in an effedra-based supplement, and that was dinner! I grew up and out of the model scene and moved into a desk job for many years which only proved to be full of sedentary hours and countless office potlucks. The pounds packed on and off as the bikini seasons came and went, and it was one fad diet after another. Next came my most important role yet – MOM! At 31, I gave birth to my first son. Sixteen months later, I gave birth to my second son, and 2 years after that, I gave birth to my third son. Yes! That’s three boys in 3 1/2 years! Fitmania came into my life just when I needed it the most. The energy it takes for me to keep up with those boys, I get all from my strength and endurance training in that 45 minute class each day! I am so blessed I get to help other people, not just the moms, that come into Fitmania each day find their energy and strength to keep up with their demanding lifestyles too.

I can remember a specific moment in my late 20’s when I was at the gym working out, attempting to undo the effects of a high-stress sedentary job and poor eating choices. I saw someone in a shirt with a motto about how you only get one body. This was a turning point for me as the importance of that statement hit home…it is up to each of us to invest in ourselves and take care of the body we have! Through FitMania, my hope is to lead and inspire others to make a conscious choice about their health. I love FitMania’s boot camp for so many reasons! One of the biggest reasons, beyond the overall fitness and strength improvement, is that I truly believe (and have seen for myself) the power that is created with the discipline of showing up and mentally challenging yourself. As you overcome these challenges in boot camp, it provides you with the confidence to apply the same discipline to other areas of your life that you want to change. It is that feeling of self-confidence that I want all people in our classes to experience and is just one of the reasons why I care.

I have six children and learned very early that I needed to exercise if I wanted to have a large family and maintain a physically fit and attractive body. I tried diets and programs while struggling with my weight and food issues. Society has given us a wealth of knowledge on health, weight & fitness while obscuring the answers we are looking for.

The solution is so easy and obvious! Now that I’ve raised my children it is time to share what I’ve learned about fitness and how to get the most out of your life.

Living a healthy lifestyle has always been important to me. One reason is that I come from a family with some serious health issues. I wanted a healthy heart and to live a long life for my family. During the last ten years and as I reached my fifties it became more difficult to maintain the weight and muscle strength I wanted. I had been gym shopping for awhile when I found Fitmania. Nothing before that was giving me the results I was looking for and I had succumbed to trying fad diets which didn’t last. It took awhile, as I was older, but after my first Challenge I was amazed at what I had accomplished. For me this is the lifestyle that fits it all. I don’t have to diet, I am stronger than I think I have ever been and feel healthy and fit. I love training at Fitmania because it gives me a chance to give that gift of health back to others.

What is life if not lived – and lived well? Happiness is found in personal progression. If you want to make remarkable changes in your life and your surroundings, today is the day. The program at FitMania will help you do exactly that. It is simple and effective beyond belief. Body type doesn’t matter here. Ego is left at the door.

What we shoot for here is constantly exceeding what I like to call “personal world records” and we encourage one another to do it.

Our lives are our choice. Make the most of it! To quote Sherry, “We don’t live to work out. We work out to live.”
